Today, we are starting our BLOG to document the journey of our Web 2.0 project on the SECONDLIFE platform. Yes, connectivity is a great stumbling block, and Yes, we do realise there may other ways to maximise civil engagement, However, we are convinced that virtual community-building is the future… and we are excited about being part of this revolution and developing appropriate solutions for Africa. SecondLife is the ideal platform for collaboration between social engineers, technical gurus and corporate visionaries to design the way ahead.
On 30 March 2007, Alanagh Recreant of USI wandered into her SecondLife and a few months later we, Uthango Social Investments, have acquired our own ‘islands’ – from which we will advocate for social justice, bridging digital divide and innovation for sustainable change in Africa…
